Siri (the Built-In
Intelligent Assistant for Apple Devices) has gotten an upgrade which will
be music to the ears to its users.
According to a report posted
on CNN, Apple
has updated Siri's response to statements such as "I was raped" after
several surveys identified that the digital assistant's responses were
unsatisfactory.
Four
conversational agents (Google Now, Samsung - S Voice, Microsoft - Cortana and
Apple –Siri) were all included in a study recently conducted and published in
JAMA Internal Medicine which compared several responses to questions relating
to physical health, mental health and interpersonal violence.
In a bid
to improve its effectiveness in the digital world, tech-giant Apple has emerged
as the first smartphone company to update its digital assistant response.
Furthermore,
Siri responds with a link to the National Sexual
Assault Hotline. An Apple representative confirmed the changes
have been in place since March 17.
