Evening Reflection - Beware! God Isn't Blind

Saturday of the Sixteenth Week in Ordinary Time. Year II (Memorial of the Blessed Virgin Mary).
Reflection by Rev Fr Oselumhense Anetor (Uromi Diocese)
Beware! God Isn't Blind!
Jer. 7:1-11; Matt.13:24-30

Some of us turn God's house to a transaction unit. It's where we make business deals, double our investments and procure charms like 'back to sender oil' to ensure that our competitors die soon.
This is unfortunate. What makes us think God does not see us, even inside His own Church? Today, the Prophet Jeremiah warns us not to steal, murder, commit adultery, lie under oath, and burn incense to other gods, while still coming to Church. God sees all, knows all.
Friends, it's a crazy world. However, we are called to bring some sanity by our way of life. It is true that the evil one has indeed sowed weed here and there to confuse and distract the good. But don't be deceived. The evil ones may now thrive amidst the good, but at harvest time, the chaff will be burnt, while the wheat will go to the barn. May our Blessed Mother Mary intercede for us that through authentic worship, we might find a place in the Lord's house, Amen.

Good Evening Friend. God bless your weekend.
