Woke up this morning to the horrifying news emanating from a city in France - Nice. Turns out while inhabitants of Nice had come out in numbers to celebrate the Bastille Day Holiday, a truck driver drove his truck into the crowd, killing 84 persons (including 10 children) and leaving about 18 more persons in critical condition and hundred injured.
The truck driver was subsequently shot and killed by police officers, putting an end to the attack but leaving a pile of death bodies and grieving residents.
As it stands, several reports indicate that the truck driver, who has been identified as Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel, a French - Tunisian, was well known to the police for the use of weapons and also for violent behaviour but has no links to any terror group.
In his possession upon his death was a pistol (which he used in shooting at the police before he killed), a larger gun and a couple of fake weapons.
There has been an outpouring of support and sympathy for France especially for residences of Nice with several prominent figures, news agencies, individuals among others taking to social media to express their opinions on the situation:
Let's All Come Together and Pray For The World!!!!!
